Software Systems Integration Engineer

Summary
IDEMIA National Security Solutions is seeking a Software Systems Integration Engineer with a well-rounded engineering background in Linux systems, platform operations, infrastructure automation, DevOps, and systems integration. This role supports the deployment, automation, modernization, monitoring, and sustainment of mission-critical biometric and identity management systems. The successful candidate will support customer environments requiring infrastructure automation, automated software deployments, and CI/CD pipeline operations across development, test, and production environments.
Location: DC or Morgantown, WV preferred. Remote will be considered.
Primary Responsibilities
• Integrate software with biometric systems, identity management systems, enterprise applications, databases, hardware, and third-party products.
• Architect software and systems integration solutions across applications, databases, cloud services, hardware, and external systems.
• Support application deployment and lifecycle management using RPM-based deployment methodologies while contributing to the organization's transition toward containerized and cloud-native deployment architectures.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Infrastructure as Code, and scripting to support application installation, configuration management, patching, upgrades, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Administer and support Linux-based production, development, and test environments.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release processes across development, test, and production environments to improve deployment reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with software engineering, systems engineering, and operations teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Support platform reliability, capacity planning, system health monitoring, and incident response activities.
• Maintain software baselines, source code repositories, release artifacts, and configuration records in accordance with established configuration management processes.
• Support modernization initiatives including legacy platform transformation, containerization, Kubernetes adoption, and cloud-native deployment architectures through proof-of-concept, migration, and integration activities.
• Document software architectures, system designs, interfaces, deployments, and implementation approaches.
• Develop operational documentation, deployment standards, and automation runbooks supporting both current-state and future-state platform architectures.
• Experience working in small teams.
• Ability to work multiple projects and problems in parallel.
• Ability and willingness to travel for some assignments.
• Occasional O&M support outside business hours.

Required Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with systems engineering, platform engineering, DevOps
• 2 years software engineering experience.
• Experience supporting Linux-based production systems.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated deployment solutions.
• Experience using Ansible in enterprise environments.
• Experience implementing or supporting system monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues in production environments.
