Intern – Data Science

Summary
The successful candidate will develop analytical processes to review and report on data collected by NSS. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of tools to perform data analysis and have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Under the supervision/mentoring of a more senior team member:
- Assist with cleaning, organizing and validating datasets
- Explore datasets to identify patterns, trends and anomalies
- Run descriptive statistics or basic modeling
- Build small scripts for repetitive tasks
- Present interim and final findings.
Qualifications / Technical Expertise
- This is an entry level position, no prior experience required
- Knowledge of at least one programming language (ex. Java, C++, Python)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Education
- Enrolled in a Data Science degree program, major or minor.
